Digital Media Intern, Performance Center

The Performance Center at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is a multi-venue facility that produces and/or presents over 150 events annually and serves an annual audience of nearly 30,000 patrons from the Saint Mary's campus community, the city of Winona, and the Southeast Minnesota/Southwest Wisconsin region. Performance Center programs include the Page Series of touring professional artists and associated community events; the Driftless Dance Festival, a new weekend-long festival featuring national, regional, and local dance; and performances by Saint Mary's Department of Theatre and Dance and Department of Music.

The Digital Media Intern will be responsible for creating and developing digital content and assets to promote Performance Center events.

Duties may include:
  • Using provided imagery and video footage to create attractive, 30-second to 2-minute video features, images, and infographics for use on website, social media, lobby displays, emails, and tv advertisements
  • Loading content into social media platforms
  • Assisting with live social media events
  • Updating and implementing improvements to Page Theatre website, pagetheatre.org
  • Additional projects as determined by the intern in collaboration with supervisor

Qualifications
  • Student must be a Junior or Senior and have the minimum credits/GPA to qualify for the campus internship program, with prior coursework in design, marketing, media, advertising, and/or communications preferred
  •  Graphic design experience required
  • Video production experience required
  • Experience working with Macintosh computers and Adobe Creative Suite required
  •  Social Media experience, especially Facebook and Instagram, preferred
  • Experience working with WordPress preferred
  • Knowledge of basic marketing concepts and experience writing marketing copy preferred
  • Must be able to commit to a regular work schedule
  • Ability to receive feedback and to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers
  • Ability to develop creative and eye-catching content with great attention to detail
  • Interest in or experience with the performing arts preferred

This position is available as a one-semester or full academic year internship. A minimum of 2 credits per semester is required.
